경사가 심한 사이트를 선정하면서 가장 중요하게 여겼던 고민은 레벨 차이를 이용한 공간을 계획하는 것이었다. 이에, 마당을 3개로 분리하여 진입 마당은 방문자와 만화가인 아티스트가 사용할 수 있는 지하 서고와 맞이방을 계획하였고, 메인 마당에는 주택의 중심인 리빙, 다이닝, 키친과 유틸리티 공간(LKDU)을 주변 언덕과 이어지도록 배치하였다. 마지막으로, 가장 높은 마당은 주인이 사용할 수 있는 프라이빗한 서재를 두어 레벨을 통한 공간을 구획하였다.
When selecting a site with a steep gradient, the primary consideration was to leverage the level differences to create a well-organized spatial layout. To achieve this, the outdoor space was divided into three distinct courtyards. The entry courtyard was designed to accommodate visitors and provide access to a basement archive and reception area, catering specifically to the artist, who is also a manga illustrator. The main courtyard, positioned to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding hills, serves as the focal point of the residence, housing the core living spaces including the living, dining, kitchen, and utility areas (LDKU). Finally, the highest courtyard is designated as the most private area, where the owner’s study is located, effectively utilizing the elevation changes to define the spatial hierarchy.
